Vic International Women's Day Breakfast

Due to an overwhelming response, we are now sold out for this event!  We still have tickets for other states if your colleagues wish to attend.  We hope you can join us next year for an inspiring International Women's Day Breakfast designed specifically for the geospatial community.

A morning of celebration, empowerment, and forward-thinking sessions. This event is your chance to network with industry leaders, innovators, and professionals who are shaping the future of geospatial technology. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting your career, come and be part of an inclusive conversation that highlights the vital contributions of women in our field. Enjoy a delicious breakfast, insightful panel discussions, and informative sessions that promise to inspire.

We warmly encourage men to join us as well. Their participation is crucial in fostering an environment of mutual respect and collaboration, essential for driving progress and
innovation in our industry. By coming together, we can break down barriers, support one another, and cultivate a culture where every voice is heard. Let’s celebrate diversity, challenge the status quo, and build a more inclusive future in geospatial science—one that benefits us all.

PROGRAM

Presentations and Panel Session on the UN theme for this year's International Women's Day 'March Forward for All Women and Girls'

  • Mina Jahanshahi, Veris
  • Zinnia, 1Spatial
  • April Taylor, Department of Transport and Planning

Guest speaker:

Hear from the inspirational Cherie Dear, the founder of Dare to Hope.

Dare to Hope was founded by Cherie and her husband Paul Dear when the 1991 Norm Smith Medalist and Hawthorn Football Club Premiership player was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in September 2020.  Paul sadly lost his battle two years later, and Cherie now gives her time and energy into raising funds for research.  Listen to how she and her family took an approach of hope and positivity, and draw inspiration from their journey.
