Geospatial Council Mentoring Program
The Geospatial Council Mentoring Program is designed to support and guide young professionals in the geospatial industry to achieve their career goals and develop their skills and knowledge. This Program offers a unique opportunity to connect mentees with a mentor who can provide valuable career insights and advice.
Our mentoring program was formerly known as the SSSI YP National Mentoring Program and has been successfully operating for five years.
About the Program
Applications for the 2023 mentoring program have closed.
The Geospatial Council of Australia mentoring program is now in its sixth year.
The mentoring program has so far attracted over 406 mentors and 538 mentees and been the catalyst for personal and professional growth for many of its participants.
The GCA Mentoring Program is supported by The Surveyors Trust and FIG Foundation.
Thanks to this ongoing support, the program will take a leap forward this year with the introduction of a new mentoring platform sponsored by FIG Foundation.
GCA thanks working group members Nick Bollard, Ben Gan, Sara Faizan, Henrique Reis and Mingzhe Li.
Executive Manager, Workforce & Strategy Danika Bakalich said: “The value of mentoring cannot be overstated. It is a powerful tool that allows us to grow and develop, both personally and professionally.”
“Mentoring relationships foster a sense of camaraderie, collaboration, and shared learning. They provide mentees with a safe space to explore their goals, gain new insights, and navigate the challenges that come their way.”
“Mentors, in turn, have the opportunity to give back to their community, make a meaningful difference, and leave a legacy that extends beyond their own careers,” she said.
Please contact the Geospatial Council if you would like to be contacted about the mentoring program when it reopens for applications.
