We look forward to welcoming the international photogrammetry and remote sensing community to Fremantle, Western Australia in October 2024 for the mid-term symposium of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Technical Commission IV: Spatial Information Science.

The ISPRS is a non-governmental organisation devoted to the development of international cooperation for the advancement of photogrammetry and remote sensing and their applications. The Society's scientific interests include photogrammetry, remote sensing, spatial information systems and related disciplines, as well as applications in cartography, geodesy, surveying, natural, earth and engineering sciences, and environmental monitoring and protection.

The Geospatial Council of Australia is the Australian member of ISPRS, with Australia’s Professor Sisi Zlatanova appointed Chair of ISPRS Technical Commission IV.

The symposium will be held in Fremantle at the Esplanade Hotel and will provide a forum where researchers and practitioners can come together and share their work and ideas, discuss opportunities and challenges, exchange developments or software tools and discuss future directions.

The symposium is also a great place for networking and establishing links between academia, governments and business, and young and emerging professionals in the geospatial sciences.

Foss4G & UPINLBS

Running in conjunction with the Symposium will be the FOSS4G Perth one day event on Wednesday 23 October and the UPINLBS on Thursday 24 & Friday 25 October.

FOSS4G Perth is a community-driven event for the Western Australian open geospatial community, focused on sharing stories and having fun with "Free and Open Source Software For Geospatial". Whether you're a seasoned open geospatial enthusiast, a recent convert, a casual user, or simply curious, we'd love to see you there!

UPINLBS is an international conference series technically sponsored by the ISPRS addressing the topics of ubiquitous positioning, indoor navigation and location-based service. UPINLBS concentrates on innovative and state-of-the-art solutions and techniques dealing with ubiquitous positioning, indoor navigation, location-based services, as well as technologies in related areas.

You can register for either of these through the ISPRS Symposium registration form
