Meet our Presenters 

Jennifer Brindle (SA) 

Jennifer Brindle is the Operations Manager for Precision Hydrographic Services (PHS), which provides hydrographic survey services across Australia. Jennifer is a Certified Professional Hydrographic Surveyor Level 1 (CPHS1), the Vice Chair of the Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA) South Australia Regional Committee, and the SA representative of the GCA Hydrography Area of Practice. 

In 2021 Jennifer was awarded the Future Leader of the Year award at the Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards for South Australia and the Oceanic region as well.


Lavender Liu (WA)

Lavender (Qingxiang) Liu is an Earth Observation Data Scientist at FrontierSI. She holds a PhD degree in Geomatic Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in surveying and Mapping Engineering.  Her PhD research at the University of New South Wales was on coastal erosion mapping with satellite remote sensing data. Lavender has working experience on using Earth Observation data for environmental and agricultural applications, including mining rehabilitation monitoring, vegetation and ecological community mapping, land cover classification, crop mapping and wetlands monitoring. She is most passionate about applying Earth Observation data and Data Science to solve real-world problems. 

 

Zoltan Kelly (VIC)

Zoltan is a geospatial professional with over 12 years industry experience and is currently the National GIS Unit Lead at Veris Australia.  This role involves leading the GIS team, winning and managing projects, and delivering technical advisory and solution design. Prior to working at Veris, Zoltan spent 11 years with Melbourne Water in spatial analysis, data, system and integration architecture roles. 
 
In 2020, Zoltan received the Young Professional of the Year Award for Victoria from the GCA, for his contribution to the COVID-19 wastewater surveillance monitoring program, coordinating spatial data and analysis across Victorian water authorities and the Department of Health. Zoltan holds a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Tasmania.
