Geospatial Council of Australia Enhances ESP-AP Certification Assessment for Industry Excellence

Geospatial Council of Australia Enhances ESP-AP Certification Assessment for Industry Excellence

The Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA) is proud to announce significant improvements to its Engineering Surveying Professional – Australasia Pacific (ESP-AP) certification assessment, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and industry relevance, and ensuring the certification maintains its status as the benchmark in engineering surveying.

Key Changes to the ESP-AP Certification Assessment include:

Refreshed Candidate Guide and Application Form: We have streamlined and simplified the application process with an updated candidate guide with examples, and an updated application form, making it easier for candidates to navigate their certification journey.

Updated Competency Framework: Our competency framework has undergone comprehensive enhancements, aligning it even more closely with the dynamic demands of the geospatial industry.

Three Intakes Per Year: ESP-AP certification applications can now be submitted three times a year, in March, July, and November.

Annual CPD Focus: Maintaining Annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) submission continues to be a key focus. Membership with GCA is encouraged, and 15 CPD points must be accrued annually to retain certification, with at least five of those points related to Engineering Surveying.

Paul Digney, Acting President at the Geospatial Council of Australia, commented, “We are pleased to announce these enhancements to the ESP-AP certification, as they underscore our unwavering dedication to promoting excellence within the geospatial professions. These changes demonstrate our commitment to elevating the standards in engineering surveying and ensuring that our certification truly aligns with industry standards.”

Tony Kirchner, Director at the Department of Transport & Main Roads added, “Industry professionals understand the value of the ESP-AP certification. GCA’s latest enhancements will make a profound impact, solidifying expertise in engineering surveying and boosting career credibility.”

The next intake session is now open until 13th November 2023. ESP-AP certification is available to all individuals, regardless of their GCA membership status.
